Two cakes, three dinners and a concert later.
Yes, I have survived my way to the big 3-0. My third decade began with a harrowing test, followed by alcohol and Italian food and an incredible Gaelic Storm concert. I met friends' significant others and made plans for weddings and reminisced and sang at the top of my lungs. There may have even been some dancing. I was wished happy birthday by a 27 month old Voltron, who becomes more and more verbal every day. "Whas'at? Whas'at? Let's go see daddy. Uppie, please. I like cake."
So thirty isn't quite the monster I thought it would be. And sorry, no, there are no pictures, not even of the dog. And King's Hawaiian continues to rock the birthday cake spectrum. Paradise Cake is awesome, and it makes me a little nostalgic for a place we once visited called Paradise.
*shakes herself out of the homesickness*
Thank you, everyone, who came, sent gifts, sent cards, called, and wished me happy birthday. It meant a lot in a month that decided to spawn me. And now we can concentrate on the really important stuff: Halloween!
